We started in 2016 under the name Landelijkentoerrr, because our assortment was mainly rustic and rugged, and we simply liked the letter ‘r’ three times. At the time, we sourced from various wholesalers in the Netherlands.
At one point, we were looking for a coconut lantern online and found a phone number that turned out to be in Bali. The Balinese woman named Juju who answered told us that she and her family lived in the building where coconut lanterns and other coconut products used to be made. They had kept the phone number and could help us with sourcing home accessories in Bali.
After many phone calls and WhatsApp messages, she asked us to come to Bali to show us around and put us in touch with various companies. We took the gamble – and she was there! Together with her husband, she showed us everything in Bali, the mecca for interior design enthusiasts like us.
Since then, we go to Bali one or two times a year and have close contact with Juju and various small businesses almost daily. She also ensures that everything runs fairly and with respect for the people. At some point, we decided to sell only products from Bali, and because the name Landelijkenstoerrr was no longer appropriate, we changed it to CoCo Homeliving. “CoCo” is derived from coconut (lantern), which is where it all started.
