Hats are often difficult to store without crushing their shape or hiding them in boxes. Branches provide a simple alternative that keeps them visible while making use of an empty wall or corner.

A long branch can be mounted horizontally and used as the main support. Instead of adding conventional hooks, lengths of rope can be tied around the branch and allowed to hang at different heights.

Wooden pegs attached to the rope hold each hat individually. Varying the length of the cords prevents larger brims from overlapping and creates enough space to see the different shapes.

The same idea can be adapted to a smaller wall. One branch with three or four hanging cords is enough for a compact collection, while a longer branch can accommodate considerably more.

A freestanding version can be made from several branches placed together in a heavy container. Branches with natural side shoots already provide useful hanging points, turning the structure into a simple hat stand without requiring additional hardware.

The type of hat changes the character of the display. Straw hats and woven sun hats work particularly well with untreated wood and rope, making the storage useful for a summer wardrobe, dressing room or entrance.

It also brings fashion into the interior in a practical way. Instead of treating hats as objects that need to disappear after use, their different weaves, shapes and colours become part of the room.
