One of the ideas behind Les Couleurs du Monde Magazine is that a place rarely belongs to just one category. The coast is a perfect example.
A day by the Mediterranean can become a travel story about a destination or stay, but the same setting can also lead to completely different subjects.
The colours and materials might inspire a Style & Fashion article. A beach house or hotel can become part of Home & Design. An outdoor lunch belongs naturally within Table & Taste, while a picnic, beach day or garden overlooking the sea can lead to Outdoor & Nature.
Even the smaller details can take a story in another direction. A woven bag might introduce a brand, shell jewellery can become a fashion subject and a beautifully designed restaurant can combine food, interiors and travel in a single feature.
This is something I notice constantly when I am on the Côte d'Azur. I might visit a place because of its location and end up noticing the interior, the table setting, what people are wearing or a local product instead.
That is also how I want Les Couleurs du Monde to work. The categories provide structure, but they are not separate worlds. Travel, fashion, interiors, food, design and outdoor living constantly influence one another.
Sometimes one place is enough to tell several completely different stories.
