I find it interesting how the same preferences appear in completely different parts of our lives. The colours we choose for an interior can be remarkably similar to those we wear or look for when travelling.

The image here is a good example. Warm browns, cream, beige and natural materials move easily between an interior, clothing and accessories. Linen appears as curtains and clothing, woven fibres become storage baskets and bags and leather or warm metallic tones add contrast.

This crossover is something I notice constantly when working on Les Couleurs du Monde. A beautiful hotel interior can inspire a fashion story. The colours of a destination can appear in a collection. An accessory might work equally well in a Style & Fashion article, a travel wardrobe or a story about natural materials.

It is one of the reasons Les Couleurs du Monde covers different categories within the same platform. Travel & Escapes, Style & Fashion and Home & Design may have their own subjects, but visually and creatively they regularly overlap.

The same happens with the brands and products we feature. A brand does not necessarily have to fit into only one story. Fashion, accessories, decorative objects and travel can all be presented within the wider context in which people actually use and discover them.

For me, that connection between categories is much more interesting than treating each subject separately. A colour, material or idea can start in one place and naturally lead to another.
